Welcome to Stamford RiverCare

The Stamford RiverCare Group was set up in 2004 to care for the Stamford stretch of the Welland River.

To group aims to:

  • Raise the profile of the River Welland with respect to its natural value, cultural heritage and as a public amenity.
  • Encourage members of the public to appreciate the River Welland and surrounding floodplain in Stamford.
  • Support the maintenance and scientific study of the river and Meadows wherever possible.
  • Promote and practice sustainability at all times.

The group is made up of local volunteers and would welcome new recruits and interest from other groups.
