As a family with two under two we realised that families with small children have very specific needs and the thought of packing to go on holiday was enough to put anybody off, so we decided to start a small family friendly business with our beautiful houses in the English Lakes and the South of France.

We want you, like us, to be able to travel light by ensuring that the basic necessities that you take for granted at home are provided. The houses are in our two favourite places in the world to travel to with our boys, Murdoch and Maverick, and as they grow I am sure the toys and equipment at the houses will be added to!

People have asked ‘Why the name Cherokee?’ and the answer is that in Cherokee stories and ceremonies the number four represents the four cardinal directions of east, west, north and south and through Cherokee Holidays we hope to take you in all of these directions as we add to the locations over the next few years. The fact that Murdoch has a wigwam and thinks he is a Cherokee Indian has absolutely nothing to do with it!
