The Race
Date: 21st June 2008 to June 30th 2008
Legs: 10
Miles: 1600
Start: Portsmouth Harbour
The 2008 Round Britain Challenge will be an historic race and only the third time in the history of Offshore Powerboat Racing in this country that the race will have been held. The event will once again start and finish off Portsmouth and will follow the same format as the 1969 and 1984 events which will include ten legs over twelve days including two lay days via the Caledonian Canal.
This is a 1600 nautical mile race and will undoubtedly be the longest and toughest race to take place for many years. This race is equivalent to taking part in the 200 mile Cowes-Torquay-Cowes powerboat race every day for ten days and is not, therefore, for the faint hearted.

This race has the potential to be the greatest Offshore Powerboat Race to be held in the world for many years.
Crews will be competing for the Beaverbrook trophy which has been offered by the Beaverbrook Foundation for the overall winner of the race.
